Division 2 Review - Deando 1st XI
The improving fortunes of the “posties” continues to gather pace as a fourth place finish following promotion from Division 3.
The mainstays of the club continue to provide the backbone of the batting with Captain S Parker leading from the front with 426 runs at 47.33 which included an innings of 127 against Old Isleworth and Heston “A”. Support came from 4 other batsmen who all exceeded 200 runs for the season being Krempel (317), McKay whose 290 at 41.43 included 104 made against Sunbury Village and I Doyle (264).
Karim was the star turn with the ball assisted by 3 five wicket returns he claimed 41 wickets at just 11.88. This was the most taken in the league. His best and that of the season was 6-30 against JFSOBA. I Doyle added 16 wickets to his runs in a fine all round display.
Division 3 Review - Deando 2nd XI
Deando were the third of the four teams promoted and managed a respectable ninth. Five batsmen I Qadir, M Bester, M Suleman, Abid Qureshi and F Hamid all scored over 200 runs with Qadir being the pick with 458 runs at 41.64. Bester top scored with 97 not out against Battersea.
Bester and Qadir both took 26 wickets in the season with Bester returning figures of 6-20 against Hook & Southborough. Suleman gave good support with 16 wickets. Both Bester and Qadir completed the league double.
A mid table finish for sportsmanship but some improvement is needed in regards to the pitch after a second from bottom finish.
