Ewell Cricket Club
Welcome to Ewell Cricket Club
2017 marked an exciting new chapter in cricket at Ruxley Lane, Ewell with the announcement of our new name as Ewell Cricket Club. We are a long established club with a proud history within Surrey Cricket. We compete within the Surrey Championship and the Surrey County League as well as providing friendly cricket on Sundays and we have a thriving Junior Cricket Section.
The club origins can be traced back to 1921. More recently, Ewell Ruxley CC merged with Deando CC in 2002 when the club was known as Deando Ruxley, until the launch on 1st January 2017 of the newly titled Ewell Cricket Club.
Ewell Ruxley was a founder member of the original Surrey Cricket League (Slazenger League). In 2008 we competed in the Fuller's Brewery Surrey County League for the first time. In 2013 our 2nd XI won the Premier Division of the Fullers league and earned promotion to the Surrey Championship. We started a 3rd XI in 2018 which played in the combined Surrey Championship/Surrey County League 3rd&4th XI league in 2019, winning Division 3 East with an undefeated season.
In 2024 our 1st XI finished 4th Division 2 of the Shepherd Neame Surrey County League, the 2nd XI finished 4th in Division 2 of Surrey Championship and the 3rd XI finished 5th in Surrey Championship Division 2 East.
The club's home ground is at 27 Ruxley Lane, Ewell, Surrey KT19 0JB where there are two cricket squares, generous playing fields, car parking, traditional clubhouse and bar (Refer to the 'Contact Us' page for directions). The club has outdoor nets and top of the range covers.
New members are always welcome.
We have availability to compete in our Saturday League XI's and 2 Sunday friendly XI’s. Please contact info@EwellCricketClub.co.uk for more information, including outdoor nets taking place during the summer or indoor nets during the winter - or come to the ground and enjoy the cricket.
Ewell CC also has a thriving Junior section and are looking to increase numbers across the age group. See 'Juniors' page for more details. In 2021 we started Mini Crickets on Wednesday evenings for 3 to 8 year olds.
